Inception is a movie set in an alternate universe where the upper echelon of business owners ideas and thoughts are targeted for theft, think in the frame of insider trading, knowing what financial moves someone is going to make in the market would be valuable. It’s not so hard to imagine. This movie is about doing the opposite, and actually giving someone an idea thus incepting something many may have already concluded inconvolutedly. A classic the day it was released, Inception remains a fun ride. Thanks for reading the following Blunt, and detail inoriented review of a confusing subversive movie that was a lot more fun to watch 14 years ago, but actually provided me with some healthy grounding in such over/under stimulating times.
Inception was a huge movie in 2010, and its crazy to think how much the world has changed in the 14 years since its release. Almost like people took the concept of this movie, and applied it to every industry. Not trying to point any fingers here, but would be real cool, and more likely profitable if every industry would be more up front instead of subversive. Obviously there are a lot of moving parts to Inception, to start, the cinematography is magnificent, bringing feeling to every scene. Water, wind, snow and gravity, that’s the vibe. Amazingly cast, and performed, Leo Dicaprio’s 2000’s run of great block buster movies era was essential late aughts. the story basically forms around a team of agents making scenarios in their own subconscious and through technology influencing the dreams of prominent societal leaders and business persons. There are so many angles to this movie, its one of those, pay attention every second, rewind, then watch it again tomorrow to get all the details you missed the first watch through, movies. But, seriously, who has the time? They do dream stuff, there’s sans gravity karate and Jiu jitsu. Balancing on the hind legs of chairs, you know, man shit. It fucking rocks.
In the movie one of the over arching themes is being in dreams within dreams, and living with the traumas ingrained in your psyche. The agents always had their ‘totem’ or link back to objective reality, for whatever that’s worth =). Watching through the movie again, the idea came to mind that the movie Inception IS everyone’s own totem in so much as we can watch it, not, download, pause, or… if your inconsiderate.. throw the dvd out a window. In summation a beautiful movie which leaves you with a lot to think about, but hopefully, more to be thankful for. minus points for lack of pussy jokes.
